Annette Siler's cancer and rehabilitation!

Donation protected
Hey, y'all this is Brittany Siler and I'm creating a gofund me account for Annette Siler.

Sometimes in life, we are hit with unexpected events. However, with those unexpected events, whether they be good or bad, we know that we have an amazing God who is a way maker and a miracle worker. Life took an unexpected turn on February 16th, 2022 for both Annette Siler (my stepmom) and Ben SIler (my dad). On this day they found out that Annette had been diagnosed with lung cancer. This diagnosis took us all by surprise. We knew that Annette had not been feeling well starting back in November 2021. What started out to be a rash and some pain in her backside which was causing her to be unable to sit ended up with her being admitted to CMC Main in Charlotte, NC on March 1st. On February 28th at about 6:30 p.m. My dad took Annette to Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC because much to his concern he thought his wife had a stroke. Annette had gotten to the point where her left hand and the left side of her face had become immobile. When they arrived at the hospital they took Annette back and did a CT scan. It was at that moment that both she and my dad were told that the cancer was not only in her lungs but had spread to her brain causing a tumor to sit on the right frontal lobe, which was causing the left side of her body to not respond. The decision was then made by my dad and hospital staff that she needed to be transported to CMC Main in Charlotte, NC where she could be further observed. She arrived at CMC Main in the early morning hours of March 1st and with no hesitation that doctors immediately wanted to start working on ways to help shrink the tumor so she could regain her motor function on the left side of her body. The doctors felt the best way to shrink the tumor was to give Annette steroids. However, Annette had already been given steroids early on when this thing started and she was having allergic reactions to a certain kind. So it was very important that if steroids were the only thing that was going to help then it would have to be a certain kind because there were certain ones that were causing her to have an allergic reaction. After talking with the doctors and making sure that the right steroids were being used my dad, Annette and the doctors all agreed that the steroids were the best route to go instead of trying to go straight to surgery first to remove the tumor. Annette has had very little sleep through all this from being in so much pain and distress. However, we know that through this time we have turned to God for answers and prayers. We have asked God to guide both her and my dad in the right direction as well as the doctors.

If you can donate it is greatly appreciated and if not all we ask is that your pray for Annette and everyone involved.

Thank you for your time in reading their story.
