Annie Hawkins and her Horses
Donation protected
Annie Hawkins (Gerow, Yearsley) is a writer, story teller, and horsewoman from Oxford PA with stops in Gum Tree, Unionville, and Kennett Square PA. She presently resides in Grafton Vermont. We know her as a talented, delightful, professional, and effusive addition to any setting. Annie has been diagnosed with a quite rare malady called Benson’s Syndrome, also called (Posterior cortical atrophy) This is a particularly challenging matter in her case, as the symptoms are exhibited in reading, writing, math, and most troublesomely, spatial cognitive skills. After a lifetime of working with horses, on and off of the track, Annie has two horses that are very much a part of her life that she has trained and cared for, for at least 15 years. With the advent of the Benson’s, she has begun to lose the motor skills that keep her and the horses safe on a daily basis. She would be devastated to be without them and thusly the creation of this fund. We are asking for some help from her friends and family to be able to employ some help for the horses so that she can enjoy them for as long as possible, as safely and stress freely as possible. All funds will go directly to this end including, Maintenance, feed and vet expenses. Annie has trouble dialing the phone at this point, however, she loves phone calls and visitors. We do not discuss the disease much as our magnificent neurologist has advised that stress is one of the worst contributors. Annie is not aware of this campaign and would likely be mortified that we have started it. One thing that I can assure you about this matter is that Annie would do the same for you. Thank you so very much for your consideration.
