It is designated for eligible survivors of service members who lose their lives while serving honorably under circumstances not defined above.  This includes service members who lose their lives while assigned to a Reserve or National Guard unit in a drill status. Vision: The hunting industry, business entities, concerned citizens, and Soldier volunteer hunters provide a world-class, all expense paid, hunting event on Ft. Benning, Georgia for Gold Star Children and their families.

Intent: Provide a group of Gold Star Children a four day hunting experience on Ft. Benning that is safe, fun, and provides lasting positive memories for all involved.

Hunt #2, 10-13 November 2017 (10 hunters and family members). Six hunters on Ft. Benning and 4 hunters at Iron Horse Farms in Marion Co., Al.

We conducted our first hunt last year and families were housed and meals provided free of charge. We were able to outfit hunters with everything from firearms to head to toe camouflage free of charge. Families participate in events such as shotgun shoots and horseback riding while Gold Star Children hunt with military/retired military guides. We were also able to film the hunt with the film donation from Twin Factor hunting show.

Personally, I could not be more grateful for donations to our Gold Star families as they have lost a loved one in service to our country. This year we will host six families on Ft. Benning and four at Iron Horse farms in Marion Co. Al. Three of the ten youth are female.
