Annual Neighbourhood Fireworks Show, LaSalle - June 29, 2024
Donation protected
It all started in 2016, with a group of neighbours, and a very loved neighbourhood park. IYKYK. We had a celebration capped off with a few fireworks. Ever since then, the friends of John Dupuis Park wanted a yearly celebration. Just a little something to get everyone together and catch up... and we did exactly that anchoring on the July 1st Canada Day celebration.
Fast forward to current day, the fireworks show has grown up quite a bit. It's a 15+ minute non-stop show, of chest pounding booms and beautiful big stars in the sky, up close and personal for all to see and feel. Based on the proximity attendees can be to the show (and still be safe), it rivals what is hosted yearly on the Detroit river.
Sadly, fireworks aren't cheap and we self-fund everything including the safety pits, remote firing devices, and of course the costly fireworks. The fireworks for this year came with a $1700 bill
The show will take place at the intersection of Alfred and Superior streets at 10pm on Saturday, June 29th
Some notes:
- The show will be over 15 minutes
- There will be a kids table setup with free freezies, sparklers, glow bracelets, sidewalk chalk, etc.
- There is plenty of parking at John Dupuis park, one block from the show.
- Please don't park on the street near the intersection of Alfred and Superior. We need to keep the street clear for cars to be able to drive through, and people to stand/sit and watch.
- Please don't sit on anyone's lawn unless the property owner has provided you explicit permission.
- As always, everyone is welcome! Bring a lawn chair if you want to sit.
