Annual Powwow @ SJSU

Donation protected
The Native American Student Organization (NASO) has the vision to host an annual powwow at San Jose State University (SJSU).  NASO was created in the 1960's. We are currently working on our history through various SJSU alumni, staff and faculty. Alan Leventhal is a trained archaeologist/ethnohistorian who has been teaching and involved in Indian Affairs over the past 32 years at SJSU and is helping us to gather our history.

Over the years, the Native American community has lost powwows because of finances. We have few non-profit agencies who can help continue to help our powwows, as such we must turn to the world for assistance. Currently, our club has $60. We have plans to host fundraisers, however, our goal is to host a powwow in March of 2018. Your generous donation goes towards the following:

- Head staff
- Dancers
- Drummers & Singers
- To "break bread" (food)
- Insurance
- Security

Please make checks payable to:
- THE TOWER FOUNDATION
In the notes section of your check, please write:
- For NASO, powwow

Then send checks to San Jose State University
Attn: Native American Student Organization #138
1 Washington Square
San Jose, CA 95192

You will receive a letter of receipt from the foundation with their Tax ID.  Please contact our president, Michael Roman @ [phone redacted] for companies who need the school's Tax ID prior to writing checks.
