Another BFPA Parvo Puppy - Please help!
Tax deductible
Maggie was pulled yesterday by BFPA from a local shelter after she tested positive for parvo. Luckily we had a foster home available that was able to take on a puppy with parvo which is rare for the rescue, so we had to use this opportunity to try and help save Maggie. Maggie is a sweet and beautiful GSD mix puppy that is only 4-5 months old. Many people don't realize how deadly parvovirus can be for a young dog, which is why it is so important to start treatment immediately. Maggie was brought to the ER vet straight from the shelter, but since she wasn't showing any symptoms other than diarrhea she was sent home as an outpatient with some meds. As suspected, she started to decline overnight first by rejecting food and then vomiting liquid in the morning. She returned to the ER this afternoon and they decided to admit her. We have been quoted $2100-$3500 for her stay and this amount could go up depending on how many days she has to stay hospitalized. We are trying to remain optimistic that she will recover quickly and looking for help from our supporters to help cover the cost. Any amount we raise will go towards her ER bill so that we can continue to help save dogs with medical issues in the future. We will keep you posted on Maggie's progress as we get updates from the vet hospital!
