Another Kind of Best Intentions

Donation protected
On Sunday, March 15, 2020 Illinois Governor Pritzker took the difficult and necessary step of requiring mandatory closure of all bars and restaurants in Illinois.

As a result, we have been closed for business for nearly a week and expect to remain so for some time.

We are deeply sad about our inability to keep our staff employed, and we are extremely concerned about their ability to keep themselves afloat during this time.

Over the course of the nearly five years that we have been open, we have been blessed with one of the most talented and dedicated group of individuals in the industry.  They have given their lives to the service of others, providing a warm and caring environment to tens of thousands of people, sharing stories and building friendships.

They have treated strangers with kindness every day, shown compassion and humor in difficult times, and generally served as unimpeachable examples of hospitality.  Best Intentions has become a second home to countless individuals, and has been a true surprise for people from all over the world.  None of this would have been possible without the people we've come to call our second family.

Best Intentions is so named because it has always been our goal to try our hardest to give the most that we can to everyone who walks through our door.  And now, we're asking you to help carry that mantle for a short time while we're not able to do so.

We understand that times are difficult for everyone, and none of us are comfortable asking for handouts.  If you can't give, please consider posting warm wishes and gratitude to our social media pages to bring a bit of positivity to our staff while they're unable to do the job that they love.  If you're fortunate enough to be able to help, please know that no amount is too small.

100% of all proceeds will go to our staff.  Thank you to all of you who have helped make Best Intentions what it is.  We're doing everything we can to ensure that we'll be back when this is over to welcome each of you back in to the same little corner bar that has become our home.

Stay safe.  Thank you again for what you've already done for us, and thank you in advance for any help you can provide to our family.

P.S.  In an effort to score a small donation from a generous GoFundMe grant program, we're required to add the hashtag #smallbusinessrelief.
