An Oven for Shera 2: Fry Harder
Last year I started a crowdfunder because we bought a flat and the oven was broken and then the oven tried to poison us so we had to get rid of it. That money very gratefully went to Crisis. Since then we've had a flood so not only do we not have an oven, but we now only have half a kitchen. I want an oven. I need quiche. I can't live like this.
Only more than that, I'd like it if we could raise some money for the Trussell Trust, who run a nationwide network of food banks, supporting vulnerable families in food poverty, facing homelessness and crisis at times of great need.
Times are hard and they look like they're going to get harder. But one group who will suffer the brunt are the most disadvantaged, forced further in to difficulty by rising food, household items and fuel costs and the threat of job losses. We might not be able to stop it, but we can give. You can read about the work of the Trust here https://www.trusselltrust.org/.
So more than I want an oven (and at this stage I really, really do) I think it's more important we throw a couple of quid - honestly, just what you can afford - at a cause to help people in need.
Sincere thanks in advance,
Shera X
