In memory of Anthoni Jamez (AJ) Orozco
Donation protected
On 4/5/23, AJ attempted to de-escalate a dispute & keep a young girl from being shot. As he approached the situation, with his arms raised in the air, asking the shooter to lower his gun & talk about it, the shooter shot him point blank in the abdomen. AJ was taken to Harborview in critical condition where he underwent over 5 hours of surgery. The hollowpoint bullet used by the shooter damaged his lower aorta, severed both main arteries to his legs & destroyed his bowels.
AJ's mom, Amy, who lives in Arizona was called & rushed to Washington hoping to make it here before he passed. At 11:18 am on 4/6/23, Amy said goodbye to her son, the beautiful boy who made her a momma. This was the hardest day of her life. AJ held on for her to get by his side which is more than the doctors had anticipated.
She watched him take his first breath and his last.
No parent should ever have to make the decision she made, ever!
Amy wants everyone to remember him as an amazing young man with a huge heart, a loving son, and a father who loves his daughter more than anything.
Senseless violence has got to stop, her son put himself in harm's way to save another human and lost his life.
AJ leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter, a 9-year-old brother, a 10-year sister, a very heartbroken mom & many heartbroken friends & family.
Any money donated will go to a trust towards his daughter's future & any expenses pertaining to his loss of life.
