Help Anthony fight lung cancer

Hi my name is Karen and I’m fundraising money to try and help my brother Anthony Seto and his family. He was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma (a type of lung cancer) mid February 2024. He is only 45 years old and it is uncommon to have this cancer at his age. He’s not a smoker, he’s just been very unlucky.

on the positive note, the surgeon managed to get the cancer removed by removing a portion of his lungs late March. He is recovering slowly, and his spirits are high.

We have been very grateful that his surgery was successful, but to give him a greater chance of keeping the cancer away, he will need to take Osimertinib (cancer preventative drug) for 3 years. The cost of this medicine will be $7000 for 30 tablets. Osimertinib is PBS listed however, Anthony is not eligible for the PBS discounted rate as he was able to receive surgery to remove the cancer and he is not a stage 3 cancer patient. He is eligible for a discounted rate with the pharma company but over the next 3 years, he is looking at about $96000. This is the discounted rate!!! We are not asking to raise the full $96000, but we are hoping to raise $28000 to cover for the first years medical expense.

Anthony and Davina have 2 young kids that are aged 12 and 7. Davina is already working full time with very limited family support as they live in Melbourne whilst the rest of the family are in Adelaide and myself in Perth. It would be great to be able to give him a bit of financial assistance to take a bit of the load off.
