Anthony Holbrook Sr. Memorial Fund

My name is Karen Holbrook and I'm writing this along with my friend and sister-in-law Laurie Wilton. On October 1, 2023, our family lost our legend. My brother Tony, our family’s father, grandfather, friend, family fix-it guy, favorite storyteller and resident crazy cat dad, was taken from us much too soon. Some of you may know that Tony was fighting a battle with small cell lung cancer - the same cancer that took our mother Sally from us in March of this year. As was his way, he was fighting the disease with everything he had. But in the last couple of weeks a systemic infection followed by COVID became too much for his heart to take. He couldn’t fight any more.

It was unexpected. We honestly thought we had more time.

Now my nephews Tony Jr., Thomas and Michael are left shattered. As is his girlfriend Nan. So Laurie (the boy’s mom) and I have decided to do what we can to make this awful time a little bit easier for them.

We are establishing this GoFundMe.com campaign so that we can honor Tony’s memory and support his boys by helping to cover their funeral and living expenses as they navigate this heavy loss.

Tony was the guy that always helped out when people were in trouble. His door was always open, a seat at the dinner table with a plate full of food was alway ready, and all it took was a phone call at 2:00 a.m. for him to be on the road, ready to help. He had a heart of gold. There is and always will be a huge hole in our lives.
