Anthony Lau's Funeral

Donation protected
Hello,

My beloved father Anthony Lau recently passed away on June 9th, on my mom’s birthday. Anthony passed away peacefully in the hospital with his wife and two sons beside him. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, and his dog. It started when Anthony was rushed to the emergency room and diagnosed with a gallstone that led to acute pancreatitis which ultimately led to sepsis. He was treated at multiple hospitals and LTAC for almost a year fighting his illness, never wanting to give up. The family is shocked and saddened by this loss and unfortunately not financially prepared as this was unexpected. If you knew Anthony, you’d know how much he touched the lives of everyone around them.

Graduated from Rosaryhill Secondary School in Hong Kong, and was admitted into University of Toronto where he studied electrical engineering and demonstrated his knowledge in that field throughout his lifetime. Anthony was a loving father who would go far to stand up for us and devote all his time to us. He always had an adventurous heart, wanting to explore more around the world. As a man, he would always put others before himself, he took no shortcuts when it came to taking care of his family. He would always make sure that they were fed, and well fed. When it came down to cooking, he knew how to make the best home cooked meals. He never knew how to cook but he wanted to provide delicious meals to his family so he continued to find ways to improve his cooking techniques. His biggest joy was simply having a meal with his sons. He always ordered more food than we could consume, making sure we were 110% fed. He was always there for his family, ever reliable.

Anthony had many interests such as soccer, biking, horse jockey racing, cooking, airplanes, listening to oldies, eating good food, traveling, and driving. When he was around, there was always laughter. He had a big impact on those around him, whether it’d be going out to restaurants or at a social gathering, he would always leave an impression on others. He is a witty man that can always crack a joke on the spot and lighten up the mood. Whenever it came down to decision making, Anthony’s parents would always ask him rather than his eldest brother for his input. He's not an expert in a particular field but he touched many areas to show his sons that life was full of opportunities if you dared to try. He had superb driving skills and he didn’t need GPS to get around. When his sons were big enough to drive, he shared his secret driving routes. As any loving father would do, he left behind lessons to his children to set them up for growth and to strive in life. He knew the difference between right or wrong when it comes to taking care of his sons, showing his love and diligence. There is only a genuine soul that Anthony has and he will be remembered forever.

We are all devastated by Anthony’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Anthony the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last farewells.

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Anthony’s funeral. We need to raise $10,000 in order to pay for a portion of the funeral service, casket, land, tombstone and burial.

Please consider donating if you are able to do so. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.

Thank you so much and God bless,
