Anthony Sawyer's Medical Relief Fund

On November 10, 2020, our friend, Anthony Sawyer, suffered a life-threatening emergency at his home.  As with any emergency, the financial strain from the medical bills will be astronomical. Anthony will require lengthy rehabilitation and assistance to get back on his feet, as well as, possible future surgeries.

Anthony has had a long career in public service along with being known for his giving, caring and helpful nature. Anthony started his public service career in the early 90s with Horry County Dispatch where he was a top-notch supervisor before joining the Horry County Police Department in 2000.

After joining the police department, Anthony served the citizens of the Green Sea community, faithfully, being on a first name basis with many of them. Anthony climbed the ranks, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Perhaps his best love was his work in the training division where his earnest desire was to better equip the officers on the front lines.

Anthony is also an artist. Using many different mediums, Anthony’s work is always awe-inspiring, full of detail and life. Embodying what it means to be an artist, Anthony’s work has brought joy to many, while allowing us to see the world through the artist's point of view. The mark of someone who truly mastered their craft.

Above all, Anthony is a friend. His level of devotion to those who have the privilege to call him a friend is beyond measure. An ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, a kick in the butt, Anthony offers all of these. Anthony always puts others before himself, always wanting to make sure everyone else is ok and living the best life they can. Anthony is a friend without fail.

Truth, Love, and Faith. Those are the big three for Anthony. He embodies all of those. We hold those close as we have faith that the love he offers others will be realized, in return, in his time of need.
