Anthony Stein Fight for Justice

This appeal is for all those who know and love Tony Stein and others who are moved by this story to support his fight for freedom and justice. He is currently incarcerated in Suffolk County Jail on Long Island and has been there for past 6 months, since May 25th, 2023. On this day he was approached by officers who claimed to be from the Marshals office about a warrant for his arrest that had been issued 4 months previously. The warrant, which was not executable in Suffolk County related to an incident dating back to 2019 that local police believed Tony was involved in where property was damaged in Delaware County, New York. These were serious charges involving explosives and firearms. When he was arrested for this warrant at a construction site he was supervising near Bridgehampton, Tony had a legally owned and registered pistol in his work truck. He informed the officers about this gun and the fact that he had a Pennsylvania concealed carry permit as well. He was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm in New York State, and this is where it got tricky. Even though they never charged or produced him on the warrant for the Delaware County charges, and have not to this day, the Warrant hold remains, so he cannot get released even if he takes a plea deal on the gun possession charge.

To be clear this is the first time Tony was ever arrested for anything, and has no trouble in his background of any type. He was working towards an architects degree and building homes that were erected all over the East Coast from Maine to Florida.

Tony is 25 years old and one of six brothers.

He worked very hard as a young man to support his family and to enter the Naval Special Forces in order to be able to make a difference in the world, specifically to help disrupt networks that exploited children. Although physical limitations related to eyesight prevented him from being able to achieve his dream of becoming a SEAL he continues to find ways to serve others wherever he can. This arrest and subsequent open-ended incarceration has created much suffering and problems not only for him but for his family and dozens of friends and co-workers.
