Aligning with Anthony as he fights Aplastic Anemia
Hi! My name is Jamie Emmick. Our family is fundraising for Anthony Gass and his family during this difficult time.
Anthony Gass is a 9-year-old boy who loves Legos and Arts & Crafts. He’s in the 3rd grade at William Street Elementary in Lancaster, NY. However, he wont be returning to school in the fall.
On June 21st, Anthony was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. His doctors have said that he will need a bone marrow transplant in the upcoming weeks. Anthony will be in recovery at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo for at least 5 weeks.
What is Aplastic Anemia ?
A rare condition in which the body stops producing enough new blood cells.
Aplastic anemia develops as a result of bone marrow damage.
Anthony’s parents, Jennifer and Vinny (my cousin), hope to spend all 5 weeks of recovery with him, plus recovery at clinic 2-3 times a week after their initial stay at Oishei's. They know that they can’t do this without some kind of financial assistance.
If you can, please find any amount, small or large, to share with this wonderful family. Anthony will need their comfort and support in his recovery and all donations will be greatly appreciated.
On behalf of the Gass Family, a GoFundMe has been made to help raise the money needed for the family’s expenses during Anthony’s recovery period. Their hope is to raise $10,000 for this initial treatment.
