The Anton Troy Recovery Fund

Donation protected
What Happened: On May 4th, 2018, Anton suffered a vicious knife attack while walking to his car upon leaving work. With multiple stab wounds to his head, neck, and chest, Anton was found, rushed to the hospital and spent that night in surgery. It is a testament to his fighting spirit, and the amazing care received, that he has survived such injuries, especially the ones to his brain. Although he remains in the ICU, he is no longer in critical condition. He is fully conscious and recovering brain function day by day. He has one more surgery planned for next week to repair a hole in his carotid artery. While it is certain he will recover, it is uncertain how long his recovery process will take and at what cost. Currently, Anton is uninsured and the medical costs, undoubtedly, will be astronomical. It is for this sole purpose that we have started this go fund me campaign to relieve some of that financial pressure. So please donate whatever you can. Any amount, no matter how small, is a much appreciated gift. Please SHARE this campaign and help us spread the word, as we know Anton is loved by many far and wide. Where We're At Now: After spending 2 days in a coma and on a ventilator, Anton is awake and responding. He is resting comfortably at an incredible medical center surrounded by the best team of doctors and nurses. He is getting wonderful care by wonderful people.  His stab wounds are healing properly but a hematoma has developed over his carotid artery that is of concern for the medical staff. Due to this, he will undergo another surgery Tuesday, May 12th to remove the scar tissue and to help prevent a blood clot and stroke. He is currently unable to open his left eye although he does have sight. Doctors are concerned this may be a lingering issue after he is released from the hospital.    Bio: Anton is a native of San Diego who moved to Los Angeles at an early age with his mother. He is an actor, writer, and is involved with the SGI Buddhist community as a leader of the Young Men's Division. Use of Funds: All funds will go directly to Anton's rehabilitation and care. His mother Kelbi will be his primary caretaker for as long as a full recovery can take, which could be up to 3 years. Until Anton's brain fully heals he won't be able to work or independently care for himself. This will be a long and arduous road of recovery and Kelbi will need all of the extra support for Anton's care. Here are a list of items your generous donation will go towards: +Medical Expenses (long term cognitive rehab) +Rehabilitation (Post rehab therapy) +Housing  +Food +Cost of Living How your money will help: Anton will need to undergo longterm rehabilitation to heal his brain, regain function of his left eye, relearn basic life skills to care for himself and hopefully lead a full life once again. This could take anywhere from 1-3 years. Until then he will need constant in home care, which will be provided by his mother Kelbi. After his release from the hospital, he will undergo months of rehabilitation to regain full cognitive function as well as regaining the use of his left eye. During this time, Anton's mother Kelbi will use the funds for all of Anton's needs such as housing, food, basic necessities and any other costs he might incur while recovering and unable to work. How else you can be of service and support: Right now, the most immediate need is to find Anton a suitable living situation (post rehab), as he was only staying with a friend when he was attacked. He is currently homeless with no where to go once discharged from the next rehab facility. Hopefully, we will be able to find a suitable living situation for Anton and his mother here in Los Angeles, as she currently lives in Washington. Please keep in mind that due to the severity of Anton's injuries sustained from multiple stab wounds to his head, he has experienced some paralysis and short-term memory loss. A timetable for him returning to work is undetermined and will continue to change along with his progress. Urgency of donations: He was attacked May 4th and has been in the hospital since that night. Everyday the costs continue to increase. Please donate NOW and share this with your friends, family, and community.  We thank you very much for sharing, supporting, and saving Anton's life.
