Memorial for Antonio Silva

Pastor Antonio Silva, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 5, 2020.   He touched thousands of people's lives with his love, compassion, larger than life smile, words of encouragement, and joyful singing to God.  Pastor Tony, as he was lovingly called, was in ministry for over 28 years through his street ministry and evangelism, all of which he did while working a regular job and being an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many.   Pastor Tony also served as the Chaplain for the International Longshoreman Association (ILA), where he retired from after more than 15 years of service. 

My Dad's favorite song was, "I'll Fly Away" (https://youtu.be/9AX9xUTEHz0 ).  He preached at the corner of our block on a homemade platform where he said, 'God told me to preach on this corner and let my people know that I love them'.   I remember seeing him singing in the  Houston Summer heat even when no one was there in the audience.  I didn't realize it at the time, but his audience was God and every person that drove by.  We were all so inspired by his passion to spread the Good News and love on people.  On that corner he fed the hungry, gave clothes to the needy and brought hope to the hopeless."  - Israel Silva (son)

The Silva Family would like to raise funds to purchase a memorial head stone for his resting place.  Pastor Tony wanted to have a nice bench memorial where people could come sit, pray and visit with him and the Lord.  His final resting place will be at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, Texas.  



The Silva Family is mourning that this Covid-19 virus not only took the life of their amazing father, but it has delayed the opportunity for them to celebrate his life with the large group of friends and family that wanted to pay their respects.  There are plans to have a great memorial service when it is safe to do so.  An online memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 14th at 9:30 AM.

Pastor Tony will be buried on July 14th, his birthday, which will now be his new birthday in Heaven.
