Upgrade Computer for Photo Editing

Not sure what to put here, this isn't for medical bills, this isn't for any sort of charitable cause to save the ______, this is just me, asking for a little help.
I love taking pictures. I love shooting festivals and shows, and sharing the images with the friends and artists that make them such wonderful experiences. In the very near future, I would like to turn photography into at least a partial income stream so I can retire from the Navy and move on to the next phase of my life.
While I have landed a couple of paid shoots, I haven't even managed to recoup what I have spent to aquire the gear I needed to shoot poorly lit clubs and shows. I have no problem hemmoraghing money for art... except for one problem, I have bled myself dry.
Which brings me to my problem. My five year old computer was not purchased with photo editing and storage in mind. I have upgraded it to its' limit, but it still chokes on photoshop, and when it is time to batch edit a show and do noise reduction, I pretty much have to walk away from the computer and come back in a day or two and hope it hasn't crashed somewhere along the line.
It's time to upgrade, I need the computing power to edit images quickly and easily, so I can still shoot the things I love and provide you all the images you enjoy, without spending hours away from my family waiting on small changes to process on each image.
I have done the research, and decided the first step is a new, loaded IMAC. If I use my military discount I can grab one for roughly $3500 out the door. That's goal one.
The next step in the dream is a color calibrated second monitor specifically designed for photo editing. The top of the line is an Eizo, 27in or larger, for another $2500.
After that, the distant dream is a heavy duty RAID 10 storage system of some type, but that isn't as urgent since I can just keep adding external drives as needed.
So here is where you come in. I am tapped out and I also have some large expenses coming up, so I cannot afford to upgrade right now, no matter how much I need to, so I am just tossing this out there into the universe to see what happens.
So game on, let's see what happens when I ask- please help me help you.
