Anwar Abulfitouh and Maria Gout

Hi, My Name is Abulefotoh and I'm fundraising for Anwar Abulfitouh and Maria children.

On August 7, 2024, my sister-in-law Maria died in Amarillo, Texas. She died suddenly from a heart attack. She was 41 years old. Upon her death, my brother Anwar went into shock and had a heart attack. He died 2 days later, on August 9, 2024. They have 3 children Tutu, Kirra and Ayak They did not have any family in Texas.

I flew down on August 14th to make funeral arrangements for both of them and to help the children. They had no way to support themselves and nowhere to go. I hired a lawyer and went to court. I was granted legal guardianship. I then had to go to Dallas to obtain passports for the 3 of them.

They arrived in Winnipeg on September 4, and they will be living with us. I arranged for high school for the two youngest ones and in the process of getting the oldest one into college to continue his studies. Because they are consider foreign students at this point, I have to pay for High School tuition and the same will apply for college.

The cost for the funeral, lawyer, flights etc. to get everything completed in Texas and move the children to our home was approx. $25,000 which I had to take out an emergency loan in the United States.

Now we are a family of 9. My wife, our 4 kids and now our 2 nephews and niece have joined us. It is a difficult time for them and for all of us. There is grieving and then the real-life adjustments. I am looking for your help in this situation. Whatever you can do for us is greatly appreciated. It is not easy for me to ask for help, but it is necessary to help my extended family.
