Hello friends and family,
My name is Linda Sweet, my 3 year old granddaughter Anya Grace Gaudette is currently at Boston Children’s Hospital in critical condition. She has Hemolytic Uremia Syndrome (HUS) caused by E.Coli.or other infections. Her parents, Jessica and Al Gaudette have remained prayerful and vigilant by her side throughout. She was admitted on 8/21. Anya has 2 brothers 6 and 10 being cared for by Papa and I, Nana (Al’s mom)as well as ongoing love and support from close friends and family. Many of you have asked us to set this up for the family. Thank you all for your support and prayers in this fight for Anya Grace.

8/29 Update- HUS is finally out of her system!
She will continue on the dialysis and they will placing a feeding tube today so she can stay strong. She doesn’t seem to be in pain rn and has been responsive. Thank you all for the continued support.

8/30 Update- They we’re unable to place the feeding tube yesterday but it is there now, no other changes at this time.

8/31 Update- Anya had a good night and slept well. They are taking her off continuous dialysis and going to intermittent dialysis. They are also making plans to extubate!! Her labs and X-rays look good as well ❤️❤️❤️

9/1 Update- Anya is not out of the woods yet. It is a very slow process. She is still intubated and is on continued dialysis. The plan was to try intermittent dialysis and to remove breathing tube yesterday. Her little body has been through so much that she is not ready for that just yet. She is so close though. Baby steps
Our Pastor and I sat with her yesterday for just under 2 hrs.
It broke my heart to see my “Big girl “
(She doesn’t like to be called baby girl because she is a big girl) in distress at times, restless, needing to be suctioned regularly. Looking into my eyes, I would sing to her, tell her how much we all love her, tell her that she is so strong and that she is such a good big girl.
I don’t know how people can go through something like this without God. He is strong in my weakness. I praise Him for that everyday.
It has really opened my eyes up to what Al and Jessica Sweet Gaudette are experiencing every day with her. It sure took its toll on me. But I also have taken such joy in seeing God’s strength in both of them and Anya as well.
Jessica is not only strong in the aloes, She is also the strongest woman I know and the best mom that I have ever met and I’m not just saying that because she’s my daughter. If you know Jessica than you have seen it for yourselves.
I am so so blessed
God has remained faithful in and through this. I believe in my spirit that Anya will be restored to complete health and will be reunited with her family soon. All for His glory.Baby steps❤️
We are asking please for continued prayer. We love you and may God bless you all

9/2 Update- We got the news that Anya now has pneumonia first thing in the morning. Her white cell count the evening before had shown that they had doubled to 40. They started her on an antibiotic at that point not sure what infection so they gave her one that covered several. Evening update- All her numbers looked good today, she has been getting lung pt to break up the gunk in her lungs and it doesn’t seem to bother her she got a lot of rest today.

9/3 Update- numbers are still looking good, took her some medication and lowering others her stomach is still bothering her and it is hard, it could be b/c of medication, sedation etc.. going to do another scan and ultrasound of heart.

9/4 Update- All labs look Good, nothing on ultrasound or scan she was able to urinate again while on her continuous dialysis.

9/5 - 9/6 Update- No changes, labs still looking good. May try intermittent dialysis soon.

9/7 Update- No changes, everything is looking good. She got a little mad/scared last night and was trying to come out of bed that means she’s getting her strength back! Still keeping her sedated but not as much. May come off continuous dialysis today. Her tummy is better and she’s been having bowel movements.

9/8 Update- Anya is definitely getting her strength back. She pulled out one of her tubes but it was one they planned on taking out a little later today anyway. They put in a new pic line and we’re able to take her off continuous dialysis and start intermittent she is still intubated and fairly sedated. Everyone is so happy with her progress and extubation will be the next step!!!

Thank you for all your continued support. May God bless you abundantly ❤️
