Anything Kyle needs for his road to recovery
Donation protected
On the morning of July 30th, 2022, Deputy Kyle Leonard was patrolling in a very remote area of Yolo County, within the Rumsey Canyon. He was working as part of the Off Highway Vehicle Team which patrols these remote areas with the use of ATVs. While patrolling, Kyle was involved in an accident and was thrown from his ATV, suffering numerous and extensive injuries. Kyle was airlifted to a local hospital and it was determined he had suffered multiple injuries: severe concussion, dislocated knee, fractured hip, fractured spine, broken shoulder, six broken ribs, facial fractures and contusions, torn tendons, and extensive soft tissue damage. Doctors advised that with further specialized examinations, they would presumably locate additional undiscovered injuries as well.
For those who know Kyle, you know he is stronger than an ox. If anyone can bounce back from these injuries, it is Kyle.
Kyle was injured at work and while workers-comp will cover some of his treatment, it will not cover everything. In addition to his treatment, he will need support bars added into his shower at home, a ramp to get him in the front door of his home, a landscaper to keep his yard maintained, and anything extra to keep his recovery comfortable and moving fast. As some of you may know, workers-comp does not always cover the best option, they cover the cheapest option. We want to make sure Kyle gets the best equipment and treatment on his road to recovery.
If you know Kyle, you know he would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. Kyle is compassionate, caring, and a hardworking guy. Kyle is currently at Kaiser Vacaville and his girlfriend is driving from Sacramento to Vacaville multiple times a day. This fundraiser is not only to make sure Kyle gets everything he needs in recovery, but also to help his family drive back and forth to care for and advocate for him.
Please help by giving what you can and join me in helping Kyle.
