Kaila's Dance Journey to Vegas
Donation protected
I started dancing when I was 5 years old at a small dance studio in Colchester, Connecticut and am proud to say that 17 years later I am still doing what I love. While over the years I have taken a number of different dance styles, it was hip hop that stole my heart when it was first introduced to me at age 10. Since then my dance career has been focused towards learning and developing the hip hop style, even choreographing my own pieces. Outside of dance studios, I have also had the opportunity to be a part of four different hip hop teams: my high school dance team at Bacon Academy, CRAZE at Bentley University, the Dance Soc at University College Dublin during my semester abroad, and becoming the assistant coach for the Newton North Varisty Dance Team in Newton, MA.
I have now been blessed with the opportunity to travel with a new team to Las Vegas this August to compete in the prestigious world hip hop competition, Hip Hop International. This will be the first time that the Beatnikx crew competes in this huge competition to represent the United States against over 40 other countries. I can’t express how both nervous and excited I am to dance amongst some of the best, most legendary hip hop dancers in the world.
As wonderful as this opportunity is, it does not come cheap and money has been very limited. Seeing that I just graduated, I am now faced with trying to support myself in Boston where I am still looking for a full time job and need to start paying off my tuition debt from Bentley University. Anything that is donated will go towards financing airplane tickets, hotel stay, food, event registration, transportation, etc. No matter the amount your donation will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
