Brandon's Road to Recovery

Hi, my name is Jessica Lemon and I'm fundraising on behalf of my brother, Brandon Carone. On 12/2/2021, Brandon fell 20 feet from his New York City apartment window and broke his neck with fractures and ligamentous in his cervical & thoracic spine. He also tore multiple ligaments in his ankle, shattered two teeth, and sustained a 4-inch laceration on the top of his head, which required several staples. Brandon has a long, challenging road to recovery ahead of him.

Brandon is a PhD student at NYU studying the cognitive neuroscience of music and how it affects our emotions, memories, and cognition. He’s a gifted musician and plays guitar, piano, drums, and more. Brandon also loves cooking, being physically active, and spending time with his loved ones. He is one of the most loving, honest, and sincere people who always has the biggest smile on his face.

Brandon is faced with an extended hospital stay across the country away from his home and loved ones followed by a return to California for several months of intensive rehabilitation for his spinal cord injuries. The care he needs is extremely costly but will hopefully allow him to return to his former life & regain as many of his abilities as possible.

Brandon will also need assistance in returning to California for his recovery. My partner and I will be converting our living room into a bedroom for Brandon, modifying our shower, and adjusting our home for wheelchair & other accessibilities. We want to do everything we can in order to provide him with an accessible home where Brandon can live as safely as possible while he participates in his rehabilitation and moves through the healing process.
