En Marzo del 2024, el mundo se callo encima de la Familia Reyes Gomez cuando su hija menor de 2 años, Alianna Reyes Gomez, sufrió un accidente devastador al estar a punto de ahogarse en una piscina. Alianna fue trasladado en un helicóptero al hospital de niños mas cercano, y fue trasladada al hospital de Chapel Hill donde estuvo meses en cuidados intensivos.

Durante su estancia en cuidados intensivos, Alianna fue vigilada de cerca por un equipo de médicos, que la ayudaban a luchar por su vida todos los días. Su recuperación fue extremadamente larga y difícil pero a pesar de las adversidades, la familia de Alianna nunca perdió la esperanza y la fortaleza de Alianna se convirtió en una fuente de luz e inspiración para ellos.

Después de unos meses, Alianna finalmente fue dada de alta con cuidados de enfermería en casa y terapia física y ocupacional. En Febrero del 2025, Alianna se enfermo de un virus respiratorio. Fue admitida nuevamente al hospital porque necesitaba monitoreo y oxigeno. Desafortunadamente, el virus respiratorio fue seguido por complicaciones y se desarrolló en neumonía. Alianna luchó valientemente, pero no pudo superar la neumonía y falleció trágicamente el 4 de febrero de 2025.

Su muerte ha dejado un vacío en los corazones de su familia y de todos los que la conocían después de tantos meses de luchar por su vida después de su accidente. El dolor es inimaginable y la familia ahora enfrenta no solo el profundo costo emocional de su pérdida, sino también importantes gastos médicos y funerarios.

In March 2024, the Reyes Gomez Family’s world was turned upside down when their youngest daughter, 2-year-old, Alianna Reyes Gomez suffered a devastating accident from a near-drowning in a pool. Alianna was airlifted to the closest children’s hospital where she spent several weeks in the ICU.

During her time in the ICU, Alianna was closely monitored by a team of medical professionals, fighting for her life every day. Her recovery was extremely long and difficult but despite the odds, the Reyes Gomez family never gave up hope, and Alianna’s strength became a source of inspiration for them all.

Alianna was eventually discharged but required special care from home health nursing and physical/occupational therapists at home. In February 2025, Alianna became sick with a respiratory virus. She was admitted to the hospital again as she required oxygen & monitoring. Unfortunately, the respiratory virus was followed by complications and she developed pneumonia. Alianna fought valiantly but she was unable to overcome the pneumonia and tragically passed away on February 4th, 2025.

Her passing has left a hole in the hearts of her family and everyone who knew her. The grief is unimaginable, and the family now faces not only the profound emotional toll of their loss but also significant medical and funeral expenses.
