Massive & Sudden Flash floods caused by abnormally heavy monsoon rains killed over 1400+ across Pakistan & displaced millions, with over 60% total monsoon rainfall in less than a month. Unusually Heavy flooding from seasonal rains swept away homes destroyed livestock and agricultural land. Things are getting worse at northern areas, and infrastructure has been swept away by surging rivers in spate.
"I call on the international community that Pakistan needs massive financial support, as according to initial estimates the losses are around $30 billion", U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for "massive" international support for flood-ravaged Pakistan as the cost of flood-related damage at $30 billion.
Record monsoon rains and glacier melt in northern mountains have triggered floods that have swept away houses, roads, railway tracks, bridges, livestock and crops.WHO claims 6.4 million need urgent humanitarian support in flooded areas.
In July and August, Pakistan recorded 391 mm (15.4 inches) of rainfall - nearly 190% more than the 30-year average. The southern province of Sindh is overwhelmed, with 466% more rain than average.
Thousands of helpless families are now among those increasingly at risk as waterborne diseases spread, and many Pakistanis remain homeless after the floodwaters and landslides destroyed their homes. A massive military-backed rescue operation was well underway to reach the 33 million affected affected in a sudden & major disaster that has left hundreds of thousands homeless and caused losses of at least $10 billion
As Pakistan battles an unprecedented catastrophe, funds are desperately needed to rehabilitate destroyed infrastructure and to Starve off further loss of life due to disease and malnutrition. Many parts of Pakistan have become inaccessible, and rescuers are struggling to evacuate thousands of stranded people from affected areas. Balochistan and Sindh provinces are the hardest hit areas.
The Challenge: Monsoons have flooded one-fifth of Pakistan displacing thousands of families and leaving millions homeless, but no major relief efforts have yet begun to reach the hardest hit regions. Funds are needed to run ongoing relief efforts. Donations will pay for food aid, safe drinking water, medical staff, medicines, vaccinations, emergency equipment, ambulance rental, fuel, food, water, and logistics to get these supplies through the difficult terrain.
The Solution Today: We have multiple facilities in heavily devastated areas that cater to mothers and children in remote communities. We deliver food, and drinking water, and provide medical services, while also supporting livelihood initiatives.
Our Long-Term Impact: We will continue the push for aid in Rescue, Relief & Rehabilitation. We will in turn engage & work with local Volunteers of to ensure this fundraiser provides vital humanitarian aid to those affected. Pls donate generously & help save a Nation!!
