NO to SI Permanent Stadium Lights

Donation protected
The Saint Ignatius Neighborhood Association (SINA) numbers 165 neighbors and has the support of the Sierra Club, D4Ward, SPEAK,and the Sunset Community Garden.

We are appealing SF Planning Commission's recent approval to allow Saint Ignatius to move forward with the installation of 90ft tall Permanent Stadium Lights on their football field.

The Planning Commission approved use of these lights for 150 nights a year until 9pm and until 10 pm for large football games.
That's a permanent end to quiet evenings in our residential Sunset neighborhood.  These lights will bring sporting activities every weeknight for half the year.  The larger events resulting in excess traffic, often thousands of fans, loudspeaker noise, broadcast music, parking issues, litter, and light pollution.  These lights will be enormous and out of character with the Sunset neighborhood.   Saint Ignatius is a private high school and this field and its lights will be for the school’s benefit only - to the determent of its surrounding neighbors.

To file this appeal, we have retained the services of an attorney experienced in opposing other Bay Area high school stadium lights.

While our attorney is giving us a reduced rate, we need to raise money to pay his fees as well as, perhaps being able to compensate our pro-bono consultants who have been instrumental in forming our opposition to SI Permanent Stadium Lights.

Please help us say NO to Saint Ignatius Permanent Stadium Lights by making a donation now, Thank You!
