I'm Aruna Adhikari. I'm currently fundraising for cancer treatment for myself.

My journey in Australia began in 2022 on a student visa with dreams and hopes for a brighter future with my husband. Life was running smoothly with our three-month-old baby. However, our lives took an unexpected turn when I started experiencing severe chest pain. Initially, we denied it thinking it was typical chest pain, but it progressively worsened. I was admitted to the hospital, where a series of tests were conducted because my condition was hard to detect. When a series of tests was done it came out that I have a very rare condition of cancer which is most probably the first case in Australia. It is called adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea. Our world came crashing down, and we were devastated by the news.

We gathered our strength and started the treatment. The cost of medical care in Australia is notably high, and we're already into the treatment journey. Since we're on a temporary visa, many aspects of the treatment expenses aren't covered by insurance.

We are unable to afford the treatment. Consequently, we find ourselves in a very difficult financial situation, desperately needing support to ensure I can continue the treatment.
