Power of a Princess

Power of a Princess is a UC Berkeley student-run organization that aims to spread magic to children and adults in need around the Bay Area and beyond. POP utilizes student volunteers to transform into fairytale characters inspired by Disney, Marvel, DC, and Star Wars to visit hospitals, children’s organizations, low-income schools, and any other groups free of charge. Our team of superheroes, princes, princesses, and Jedi provides arts & crafts, storytelling, sing-alongs, dancing, and other enriching activities to our in-person events; we also provide virtual events to produce a COVID-safe environment.

Our goal is to bring a magical experience to children and children-at-heart who otherwise would not have the opportunity to visit their favorite characters at Disney parks or afford the prices of party performers. Character interactions give sick or underserved children a chance to forget their worries and focus on being a kid––“Hakuna Matata” is our motto.

Alongside bringing joy to children and adults virtually and around the Bay Area, Power of a Princess is geared to creating a close-knit bond between members and providing members with a safe, fun space to be themselves. POP gives those interested in the performing arts, childcare, and/or volunteer work the opportunity to use their skills to serve the community.

Our organization relies on donations from people like you for high quality costumes and wigs, arts and crafts materials, and more to make our events extra memorable for the kiddos.
