Apres Bathhouse

Healing comes in many forms. Whether it's through medicine, nature, movement or warmth. For me, healing comes through movement, community connection and softening of the body and mind in saunas and bathhouses where I can recharge my spirit. Bellingham, WA is a small town in the Pacific Northwest that is a vibrant community full of artists, athletes, students and wellness seekers. Our summers are extraordinary but our winters are cold and grey, leaving many of us depleted and stuck indoors. We have no space to connect as a community and recharge the body. Similarly, with so many athletes in our town, aside from the Bellingham Bay, we have no dedicated space to do quick recovery cold plunges needed to rejuevante our muscles and enhance our performance. This is why I am starting Apres Bathhouse.

Our community needs a dedicated space that has a hot pool to relax the mind, a cold plunge to improve circulation, a dry sauna to detoxify the body and a steam room to improve muscle recovery and improve skin health. Additionaly, we need a space where the community can gather safely, sit in peace and connect. Apres' goal is to provide a welcoming, clean and safe environment where people can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, rejuvenate their bodies and focus on their overall health and wellness while also decompressing and connecting with themselves and community members.

Post Covid, our mindset has shifted in what we prioritize and spend time and money on. More focus has shifted to health and wellness, connection with community and unique experiences. Apres will be accessible for all people with community and private hours as well as discounted rates for students and emergency personnel. Apres aims to be involved with the community and a place that people go to often, not just as a luxury treat.

This space is needed but making it a reality is not easy. Funding is needed for construction and utilities which will take time to perfect and ensure it is safe and accessible. I am seeking funding to assist in construction and building costs. No donation is too small. Any donation you make will be noted and can be used as a one time day pass to Apres once up and running!
