Help April fight Neuroendocrine Carcinoma
Donation protected
April Brookman was three weeks away from graduating college when she checked into the ER for debilitating migraines and sinus pressure. April had previously been treating the pain as a sinus infection for two months. Her pain was to the point where she was not sleeping and could not function at school and work. At the ER, a CT scan found an unidentified mass in her sinus area, which was later diagnosed as a highly aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma of the nasal cavity and sinuses. The cancer tumor is completely blocking her left sinuses, is eating into bone that is right up against her brain cavity, and has grown into her left eye socket reaching her eye nerves causing vision loss in her left eye. April was diagnosed on a Tuesday afternoon and began her 1st of 4 rounds of chemotherapy the next morning at 7 am. This diagnosis and her continuing debilitating pain forced April to medically withdraw from school. Going to chemo instead of graduation.
Upon graduating from college, April was planning to move to Reno, Nevada to pursues a career in Conducting. April’s passion for music started 15 years ago at a young age when she learned to play the clarinet.
She has always been interested in conducting and began to seriously focus on this career after a hand injury that limited her playing career. Her plans were to pursue a Doctoral Degree in Conducting so she could achieve her dream of bring people together through music.
These funds will be used by April to help pay for travel, food, and treament costs for her continued chemotherapy, upcoming surgery, and radiation therapy. Please spread the word to help April cover these costs.
