April Ponders Cancer Support

Hi,

My name is Chandra Duncan and I'm setting up this fundraiser for my niece April Ponders. Well, let me tell you a little bit about OUR April. To those who know April, then you already know what a true and dedicated family member, friend, co-worker and person she is inside and out. For those of you that have not had the privilege to meet April yet, she is an amazing mother, to her pride and joy and only son Maurice "Boog" Ball, Jr., an amazing daughter and provider to her mother, a loving and amazing sister, niece, aunt, cousin, co-worker and friend to many. April is one that hardly ever asked anyone for help but will go above and beyond and give her last to whoever may need her help when she has it to give. She is loved by many.

For the past 10 years, April and I became very close. April is not only my niece but is one of my BEST FRIENDS. She helped nurse me back to health in 2020 when I was sick with COVID/pneumonia and in ICU for 14 days. I now understand how she felt when she said she felt so Helpless because she couldn't be there with me.

April has dedicated herself as a school bus driver for the past 14+ years in the Atlanta and Douglas County Public School system. Some of the schools she drove at were Frederick Douglas High, Best Academy, Woodson Elementary just to name a few. She faithfully made sure the kids, (maybe some of your kids) made it to school and were safe while on her bus. She continued to perform her job as a driver until she was medically unable to.

April started feeling extremely tired, and fatigued, sleeping a lot and complaining of pain. She lost several days/weeks of work due to the way she was feeling. She thought it was from her Lupus medication but during a follow-up appointment with her doctor, a biopsy was done and she was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer. April was immediately admitted to the hospital and is vigorously fighting this battle every day. April has had some up-and-down days. But she's still FIGHTING HARD......

As April is fighting this battle, financial support is needed to help cover her finances, monthly bills, personal needs and future medical expenses. We know that we have a long road ahead of us. Once she has WON this fight she will not be able to return to work immediately. Due to the new school year approaching, at this time she will not be able to resume her loved job as a driver to the students that she deeply cares for.

April has the utmost Trust and Faith in GOD. She knows he is a HEALER in her SICKROOM. April will win this battle triumphantly. Please continue to keep April in your prayers.
