April represent Australia for Futsal & Soccer
Donation protected
After her strong performance at the 2022 National School Futsal Championships, Toowoomba’s April Mammino has been selected to represent Australia at the Futsal US Nationals in La Vegas in July 2023.
This has been followed up with selection to represent South West QLD at the National Schools Futsal Championships in Brisbane this September.
At just 15 years of age, April is following a family tradition: her Mum played Futsal for Australia at the same age.
April has fallen in love with the game, having only been playing since 2021. With a wealth of natural talent and dedication, she has exploded onto the scene.
“I love all sports and will give anything a go”, says April.
“My true love is soccer and I am aiming to reach the highest level I can, who knows what that will look like.”
With the Olympics coming to Brisbane in 2032, we are all excited to see where this journey will take her.
April is cared for by her Grandmother, Cindy, who couldn’t be more pleased, yet is finding the expenses alongside the current costs of living very difficult to manage.
“April is such a great kid, just like her Mum at that age, and we’re so proud of her. But the costs are really challenging. I just want April to have a great trip and seize every opportunity, we’re reaching out to our Toowoomba community for help.”
Funds will be used solely so that April can attend her International and National events, and do her best.
Any overflow funds will be donated to Sport Access Foundation, who provide Foundation Grants for young Australians with a disability to increase participation in sport.
