Aprille Stevens Amputation Recovery

Due to a serious car accident, Aprille had to have her lower leg and foot amputated on June 26.  She had gone through 3 operations already that had failed and the bone was dying and the hardware was all falling apart.  The amputation was the last hope for her to ever be able to walk again.  The doctors are hoping that in a few months she will be able to get a prosthesis.  She is in a rehabilitation hospital right now.  She only has insurance to cover 20 days.  They want to send her home next week.  She lives alone and has a small 2 story townhome.  She will need to have safety grab bars installed all through the house.  She needs carpet replaced in the living room that is worn and dangerous for her.  She will also need a ramp build so that she can get into the house.  And lastly, her central A/C is broken and needs to be repaired or replaced.  Since she is not able to get around without a wheelchair, fans in the house will be dangerous for her.  She is going to have a hospital bed brought in and she will be confined to the main floor for awhile until she learns to navigate stairs with one leg.   If enough money can be raised, we hope to be able to have a chair lift installed along the stairs to get her to the second floor.  The first floor is not ideal as she only has a half bath on that floor.  Things will be difficult for her for awhile.
  She is on very limited disability income and does not have any extra money to get any of this work done.  We are asking if anyone can donate to help make this happen for her.  She is very motivated and ready to take on the world if given the chance!!  Mostly she just wants her freedom back.    We also can use help with any of the labor  to have these things completed if there is anyone with those skills or materials.    We need to have these things completed as soon as possible as she will be going home soon.
