April's Broken Vertebrae

Donation protected
My 21-year old granddaughter had been battling back pains for some time. She found that she had a fractured vertebrae, a result of a fall when she was a pole vaulter in Middle School a few years ago.

Last week, while at the hair salon, she bent over while drying her hair when she experienced a terrible "crack" in her back followed by excruciating pain. At the Doctor's, it was discovered the vertebrae had fractured more severely. Worse still, a piece of bone broke off and is free floating by ligaments and muscle. She also has a hemorrhaging disc pressing against the sciatic nerve, causing her great pain. The real danger is the broken piece could come loose and move about in the column from April's movements. Paralyzation is possible.

April, who works for a local veterinarian, is currently unable to work, restricted by her ability to move about. Recently married, April feels bad that her new husband has been burdened with their commitments with only his income.

It is unclear how much, if any, that her insurance will cover for her surgery and how long her recovery period may be. Our goal is to assist April financially with her medical costs and help with her living expenses while she is unable to work. Please pray for April's recovery and consider contributing.
