Hello Family and Friends!
If you don't know me, my name is Jacob Hurtubise. I grew up in Zionsville, IN and graduated from West Point in the class of 2020. Upon graduating, I received an opportunity to delay my service commitment and signed a professional contract with the Cincinnati Reds. For the past two seasons, I have worked hard in the Minor Leagues, continuing to chase my dream of making it to "The Show."
As some of you may know, the pay for a minor league player is minimal. We spend hours during the season playing games, traveling across several states, and entertaining thousands of fans every night for extremely low pay. In the off-season, we receive no salary to pay for housing, food, or training. I would like to maximize the opportunity I have been blessed with to play baseball and represent the United States Military Academy and my local community.
This off-season, I am looking to invest in myself as a player. I am looking to raise $6,000 to train with Driveline Baseball. Driveline Baseball is a data-driven hitting training program for hitters looking to increase bat speed, optimize their swing plane, and create a solid approach at the plate. This program is being used by players such as Shohei Ohtani and Nolan Arenado, and the results they have displayed on the field from training here have been phenomenal.
I appreciate everyone for always encouraging me in this journey. Regardless of whether or not you are able to support me financially, I hope to continue to make the ABF and my local community proud.
