“Sparkle for Sinead”, raising funds for IMNDA & MND NI

In November 2021, just after the birth of her 3rd child, my cousin Sinead was given the devastating news that she had Motor Neurone Disease. Unfortunately it is a rare and rapid form of the disease and in three short years she has reached the point of needing round the clock care. She continues to stay positive, never complains and enjoys every day she gets to spend with her children.

We come from an extremely close family and this news hit so close to me as we are the same age and I have two small children of my own (I was expecting my youngest when she was diagnosed). I felt compelled to try to do something positive to raise awareness (and therefore funds for the MND charities in Sinead’s name) and I made a promise to her that I would use my music for this goal.

As a result I’m delighted to announce a charity campaign that I’m producing this Christmas called “Sparkle for Sinead” which will include the sale of a charity single of “you’ll never walk alone” and two concerts. One in our home town of Ballymena (Ballymena North Business and recreation centre) on Dec 1st with guests Sanctuary Singers (conductor Loreto McAuley), the second concert in Dublin (St Mary’s Church, Haddington Rd) on Dec 6th with guests St Andrews College Jr Choir (conductor Karen Armitage).

Both concerts will start at 7pm and both will be accompanied by my dear friend Catriona McElhinney-Grimes on piano.

There are also additional media fundraising events being planned with the support of Jannie Rawlinson in the UK.

This go-fund me page is for the charity single. If you wish to purchase the single then you simply make a donation (as much or ans little as you can spare) and the single will be emailed to you!

All the profits from the campaign will be divided between IMNDA in Dublin and MNDA in Northern Ireland.
