My JourneyMy Life My Aspirations

Donation protected
To those who have taken the time to read this I just want to initially thank you. I may be known to you personally or maybe you know about me through my mother or even from my stepfather Mike as the son of two amazing people whom’s arms of influence have stretched far and wide either in santeria as a whole or their music that leave people in awe. If you know me, then you most likely know what i want to do or if you don't then i want to let you in on my precious aspirations and dreams that I want to achieve in my life.
All my life I have had a fascination of the human anatomy and how it works in the many complex systems and functions that are going on inside of you at every moment of the day. I looked at many different fields in medicine but the one that stuck out the most to me was the study of the human brain, Neurology. Just the vast unknown that is the human brain is enough to push me to make it the career of my life. I could help so many different Neurological disorders like autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and so many others. I've had this dream of mine since i was eleven years old and have stuck to it ever since and when people ask if i think it's too early to decide on a career and i never say anything but show them that the dream still lives on inside me, becoming brighter everyday as more opportunities present themselves. My most recent opportunity is an offer to go to harvard medical school to spend a week learning about the ins and outs of what neurology truly is and it’s the type of experience that i have been eager to get for a while. The program is hosted by the National Student Leadership Conference or NSLC for short, but this is the point where I ask for help from my community. Me and my family have set up a go-fund-me page so that I am able to go on this trip since the cost is a hefty 3500. I would be happy with any donation to the go-fund-me because it shows me that people believe in me and will even help me get to my dreams one step at a time. I know there is not much I can offer back but with the funding I get, I will be able to go to a prestigious school for experience in Neurology and in the long run, there will be a day where I can give back to this community by becoming something great in this world. This is the start of a long journey for me and any help the community is willing to offer is appreciated to its full extent. Through this page, I can have the ability to merge dream and reality despite the many hardships that are bound to come but those hardships can seem irrelevant because of my guardian angel, Elegua that walks with me and opens the doors to an infinite amount of possibilities.
In the end, every donation that is going towards my Go-Fund-Me will not be a waste and people can count on me to get that MD in neurology on my wall at the end of my school career as well as a known neurologist in the medical field. If you know my mom, then you will know that i have some pretty big shoes to fill in the long run. She is the most loving person that I know and anyone who has had the chance to meet her would say the same. I just wish for her to be proud of me and the person that I will soon become in the world. That goes even deeper being a big brother to the most beautiful sisters i could ask for, also known as, Chungi and Omi Sotolongo. I want them to look up to me as an influential person to them and to seek the success that I will have. But i could never leave out my stepfather Mike who has never had to do anything for me, but he wanted to. He saw the potential in me and formed me to become the person that I am as the male figure in my life. Another pair of important people in my life are my grandparents who are dealing with me for the moment, supporting me through everything that has happened in buffalo so far for me. Without them many many of these opportunities would not have seen the light of day from me. It should be known that this page is a requirement since i need to raise the money myself and not through the direct payment of my parents, which can show my own determination to schools as well as to the program itself. Any donation is welcome and thank you for reading through this entire short essay.
