Dear AQUA Community 

It took me a while to start this GoFundMe Page. It didn’t feel appropriate to ask for help when so many are affected by this global crisis. But many of you, members of our community, reminded me that what we do at AQUA matters to so many. Indeed, I have received countless heartfelt messages of support, and our team has been showing so much solidarity and care. This is reason enough to fight and keep AQUA alive and it is my responsibility to voice our needs and allow our community to help because AQUA really needs you today and won’t make it without your support. 

This month of April marks our 7th year anniversary since our opening in 2013 and I speak on behalf of myself and my teammates when I say how proud we are of what we’ve accomplished. In seven years of business, we have built an incredible community of kind-hearted humans who share the same care and respect for others and for our planet and for our sacred water. 

Our team has grown to become a family and we have worked tirelessly to improve our clients’ health, provide a safe wellness space for all and continue to expand on our mission of water wellness. We have so much more to give. This 7th year anniversary cannot be the last one and we will do all we can to continue offering water wellness to you all, for years to come.

Today, we need you because our business was greatly impacted by the Covid-19 outbreak and lockdown. We lost 100% of our revenue and I have no visibility as to when we might be able to re-open and what our revenue will look like then.

I have applied for several grants for women owned businesses but haven’t heard anything back. Everyone is overwhelmed... I am trying to navigate the loan options that the government is offering; the application process is confusing and even if we receive disaster loans, most of the funding will need to be paid back with interest. I already have high monthly payments on existing loans and cannot afford to add another one, especially without any indication we can re-open soon or generate meaningful income to pay them off. 

All of this is scary and as more time goes by without any solid solution at sight, the stress increases on the business and on our team. That’s why, like so many small business owners, we are using this fundraising campaign as an additional effort to support the studio. 

Our business is by nature costly to run, with high overhead, and we need to plan for the months ahead. The funds from this campaign will help us weather this storm, support our teammates in need and ensure we can reopen our doors with our full team in place.
