Aquagrom 2023

Hi, my name is Alia Marriner and I love the ocean. I've grown up playing, swimming, and surfing in the waters of Laguna Beach. My friends and I care deeply for the ocean and that is why we are doing the Aquagrom. The Aquagrom is a fundraiser to help restore ocean life in our local waters. This event will be made up of kids in 5th through 8th grade (groms). We will swim/walk from Crescent Bay to Victoria Beach to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy Blue Belt in Laguna Beach. All money raised will go to Get Inspired! Inc, an amazing charity that works to improve the ecosystem of the ocean in Orange County.

More information about Get Inspired! Inc.: Since 2010, our mission is to inspire stewardship and curiosity for the natural world through the exploration of science. We do this through our ocean restoration projects. We train kids to raise the species and we train volunteers to plant them and survey them in the ocean. We have successfully restored the kelp forests and now we are working to restore green abalone and white seabass. We have taught more than 12,000 kids to help us. Some of them are now marine biologists too!
