AQUI Nonprofit Restaurant Project

A Quest Uniting Individuals Community Hospitality is a nonprofit restaurant project serving the community to change the quality of life for our houseless brothers and sisters. At A.Q.U.I. we’re raising funds and promoting initiatives to serve the displaced youth in our community. A.Q.U.I. will help the community by training individuals facing homelessness to enter the workforce and improve their quality of life. Our 12 month program will offer life training for important parts of success such as leadership, confidence, and the courage to execute everyday life.

A.Q.U.I. will start with a no-contact family meal delivery service in hopes to become a brick and mortar location. Our final goal is a restaurant that will act as a hands-on, learning, living, and unique dining experience, where customers feel the warmth from our hospitable team. Aqui means "here" in Spanish, and it is the one word that describes the experience we will strive to accomplish. “Here” is where we will love each other as a family. “Here” is where we will celebrate each individual that steps through our doors.  "Here" is where we will believe in our team of employees and encourage them to pursue higher goals. We all need to be more compassionate with one another and defend each other’s right to the pursuit of success.  .  

As a restaurant, its mission, of training houseless young men and women, certainly sets it apart from any other competitive restaurant in the North Hollywood, CA area. With this in place as our mission and a lot of community love and support, A.Q.U.I.'s will likely reach its expectant donations and sales goals. Most of us can only imagine the complications people who are houseless must overcome to maintain a job, much less one in the restaurant business. Yet, this innovative employment training program will help ease the transition. From living on the streets to independence, A.Q.U.I.'s goals are wholehearted to say the least.

 

Milestones
A.Q.U.I. expects to achieve the following milestones in the following 27 months:

12/1/20  Pilot 1 No Contact Family Meal Deliveries: Hire and train 4 houseless staff members
1/1/21 Begin catering for fundraising events
4/1/21 Pilot 2 CATERING: Recruit and train  additional 2 houseless staff members
1/1/22 Reach $ 100,000 donations
12/1/22 Launch our first brick and mortar

Monday Family Meals No contact delivery One baked whole organic chicken with 1 of 4 moles. Fresh gluten free mini sea salt and oregano bolillos Two side dishes: calabacitas (sautéed Mexican squash with tomatoes and queso fresco) frijoles de la olla (pot of beans)

$1,000 allows us to apply for necessary permits

$3,500 allows us to hire and train 1 staff member
