We are heartbroken over the sudden loss of our beloved Arath. He was taken from us unexpectedly at 20 years old; his life still filled with promise and possibility.
Anyone who knew Arath will carry memories of his kind heart, innocent laugh and tireless work ethic. Arath always made people feel special and cared for. He gave the best hugs, looked you in the eye when he shook your hand, and brought joy into every room he entered.
Arath was born in Mexico and made his life here as an accomplished young Mexican-American. Proud of his heritage and his family, Arath honored the sacrifices made on his behalf by striving in each of his chosen endeavors. His two most cherished areas of involvement were soccer and FFA.
As an athlete, Arath was top-notch and his list of earned accolades is hard to beat. He was the Sierra Valley Conference Boy's Soccer MVP, a 2 time Section Champion and Galt High School's Male Athlete of the Year. He earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 Men's Soccer as a CSU, Sacramento Hornet and was so proud to play on that team.
As an FFA member, Arath rose to the highest ranks. He earned State and National Championships as a member of the Agricultural Issues Forum team, where he advocated on behalf of agricultural labor. He served as President of his FFA chapter, attended leadership conferences in Indiana and Washington, D.C., and served as an inspiration for other young leaders who aspire to rise above and do something special with their lives.
To know Arath was to love him unequivocally. He was pure magic and will be missed more than a simple typed description can describe.
Arath's family will be financially responsible for transporting him back to Galt and putting him to rest. With the increasing costs of funeral services in the COVID-19 era, his family can use all of the help Arath's beloved community can provide. All funds will be routed directly to Arath's family as the beneficiaries of this account. We appreciate any contributions to help ease this burden and honor the memory of our Arath.
