Archangel Rwanda Library & Water Tank Projects

Archangel Academy is a preschool located in the Musanze district of northern Rwanda. Archangel was founded in 2016 by Dr. Gaspard Nzayisenga, a wildlife veterinarian whose day job is working to keep endangered mountain gorillas healthy in the wild. Gaspard and his wife started sponsoring children in their community whose parents could not afford the school fees and the seed for Archangel was planted.

Today, Archangel Academy sits on a hillside property where Gaspard and his wife have invested their life savings into building a school that gives young, disadvantaged children in the community their best chance for a bright future.

Dr. Gaspard and I work for the same organization and I have visited the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for young children and Dr. Gaspard is one of the best people I know. Your donation will have an immediate and lasting impact. 100% of the money received will go directly to the school (minus GoFundMe fees). I will cover the wire transfer fees. They are currently fundraising for two specific projects:

1) Community Library Interior (Phase 1): $2,500 USD - They are in the final stages of completing exterior construction on the new library and are now focused on building out the interior. Their vision is to paint the walls with murals, build tables, chairs, and built-in shelves and stock the shelves with books and games (Phase 1). Even without the interior complete students are already using the space! Phase 2 will add computers, a large screen, internet access and other digital resources.

2) Rainwater Harvest Tanks: $1,800USD - Archangel relies on water for many different kinds of day-to-day activities, such as cleaning, washing, bathing, cooking, drinking, farming, etc. They would like to add two 10,000L catchment tanks to help move toward self-sufficiency with their water supply and to supplement water requirements during summer and drought conditions.
