ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP SENEGAL
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
In December, we will build a small entrance portal in Kholpa, Senegal. Kholpa is a small village near Dakar. I am an Architecture graduate student at TU Delft aiming to design with vernacular materials in a circular method for this region. To do so, I am visiting this village in December to study the living habits of the local community. The final design of my graduation project will be based on these living habits as a foundation for spatial planning.
One of the vernacular materials I aim to design with is rammed earth. During my visit to Senegal, I would like to work with this material with the people of the village. With the local community, we will build the portal displayed. The construction workshop aims to inform locals of the potential of rammed earth as a substitute for the concrete blocks often used in the greater region. Rammed earth has many sustainable properties. It uses 90% less cement and water, has a reduced environmental impact, is substantially cheaper and looks beautiful. Please help us finance this project through a donation that suits you. This way, we can gift this structure to the community.
