ARE WE OKAY A look at Gen Zs dark sense of humour
Donation protected
We are a group of young filmmakers making a short film about our generations coping mechanisms. We've noticed a common trait between ourselves and our peers of making fun of very serious aspects of our lives. Minor inconveniences are made to look like a massive object in our lives that we make ourselves poke fun at it as a way to deal with its intensity.
Through a way of documentary and animation we will be diving into why we do this and what it is we joke about. This documentary will be primarily a way for young adults to feel less alone in our crippling self depreciating humour, as we are all coping in the same way.
Our film will blend styles that are common between Gen Z youth and will reach a unique perception through animation and unconventional experimental film techniques, while also seeing the actions through a sympathetic lens.
These funds will primarily be going towards our location, equipment and travel expenses as we are trying to make this film the best it can be.
