Roman Anthony’s Funeral Expenses

UPDATE:

It breaks my heart to have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. What we originally thought was a grade 3 IVH and a “baby stroke” turned out to be a grade 3 IVH and a very severe grade 4 IVH. All of the cards were stacked against this sweet boy from the very beginning. And he fought his absolute hardest since day one. We are so very proud of him and I couldn’t have asked for a better first love. It absolutely kills us to be attending his funeral instead of his baby shower. Thank you to all who have supported us during this time. Our love is at peace. #RomansWorld

UPDATE:

Our sweet boy Roman was born on March 16th at 4:45pm via urgent c-section at only 27 weeks 3 days gestation. He weighed 1lb 3oz. Both his age and sized made our baby a micro preemie. Within the first few hours of his life his father and I were woken with the most horrifying news. A doctor came in and told us our boy had a severe grade 3 Interventricular hemorrhage (IVH). This is the most common type of brain bleed most often caused by a traumatic birth. He also suffered a “baby stroke” in part of his brain.

The doctors were telling us the absolute worst case scenario and offered to withdrawal care and let our son pass away. Immediately, we refused. Our baby boy has been fighting from the very beginning and we will not stop fighting for him. He has had over 15 blood transfusions, and been on a ventilator 24/7 until his lungs reach maturity.

The doctors are expecting some developmental delays, but I know my boy is a CHAMPION and he will overcome anything life throws at him. He is my absolute hero and the love of our lives. #Roman’sWorld
Hello family and friends,

As you all know we’ve been blessed being pregnant with our baby boy Roman Anthony. We are elated to be his parents and are anxiously awaiting his arrival. However, this pregnancy has been the furthest thing from a walk in the park. Recently I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and placenta previa putting my life and our baby boy’s life in jeopardy. This diagnosis also caused our baby to be severely underweight and he will be born prematurely. Prior to my diagnosis I was working full time, saving for maternity leave for his arrival. Unfortunately, due to these complications we will have to remain hospitalized until his arrival. We are hopeful he will be able to make it to 34 weeks gestation before he makes his appearance, but even at that point we don’t know how long we will be staying in the hospital given his IUGR diagnoses. Anyone who knows us knows that we do not like to rely on others for anything whatsoever, so this is most definitely not an easy thing for us to do. But we would do absolutely anything for our son. We greatly appreciate any donations during this time. We love all of you and we cannot wait to show everyone our beautiful baby boy.
