An Update on Arianne’s Healing Journey
[Posted by her support team]
We want to share an important update about someone who means so much to so many of us—Arianne Jones.
Several weeks ago, on January 22, Arianne and her husband Jeff welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy, River, into the world. What should have been a joyful time quickly turned into a fight for her life.
Only four days later, Arianne was rushed back to the hospital with an unexplained infection. By January 28, she was admitted to the ICU, where she would spend the next 21 days in an induced coma and 29 days on a ventilator.
Doctors luckily identified the cause: a rare bacterial infection with only 50 documented cases worldwide. Arianne is now officially the second known survivor.
In total, Arianne has currently undergone 12 surgeries—many of them performed while she was unconscious-, she's overcome odds that have been stacked against her and she's not through it all yet.
Right now, Arianne is working to regain some key internal functions as well as movement in her body. At this stage, she’s unable to lift her arms or legs, but her spirit is as fierce and determined as ever. She’s facing at a minimum 4 more months in the hospital, 2–3 additional surgeries, and an 8+ month recovery journey ahead.
She is alive. She is fighting. And she is slowly, courageously recovering.
If you’ve ever known Arianne—as an Olympian, holistic nutritionist, joyful presence online, or loving friend—you know how much heart she puts into everything she does. To know her is to have had your life brightened and bettered because of her presence; she unconditionally shares her light, her infectious joy for life (and a delicious treat) and her fierce belief in bravely pursuing your biggest goals- and now she needs us.
How You Can Help
Arianne’s recovery is going to be long, intense, and expensive. Your donations (being accepted by her husband Jeff) will go directly toward:
•Specialized rehab and physiotherapy
•In-home care during recovery
•Child care cost as her family supports her rehab
• Access to women’s health specialist for long term care
This is a moment where our support truly matters. Whether you’re able to give $5 or $500, every single donation helps Arianne focus on what matters most- healing, recovering, and being there for her baby.
