Ariel Abbott's Japan Study Abroad Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hello, everyone!
I would like to introduce myself to those who don't know me. My name is Ariel Abbott. I am an Honors Sophomore majoring in Graphic Design at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.
I’ve recently been accepted to go on a faculty-led study abroad to Japan, and I’ll be staying in Japan for three weeks this coming May 2024. This program is open to all majors with a minimum GPA of 2.75 at my college and will hold classes in Japan. By studying abroad, I will explore Japanese business, society, culture, and language in the country. We will have classes every morning. Then, as a group with our Japanese language professor, we will also tour Tokyo, Kyoto, and important sights like the Imperial Palace, Yasukuni Shrine, Hiroshima, etc., to learn about the country and its history. In addition to that, I will also be taking the opportunity to use what I learned from digital photography (which was one of my graphic design classes) and create a photo book of my study abroad.
I am very excited to have this opportunity to study abroad because I will be learning and immersing myself in a culture I love. I’ve taken a Japanese language class here in college and am continuing to self-study Japanese to prepare for studying abroad.
For this study abroad, my goal is to raise $2,500, due on March 5th, 2024, to help cover the rest of my installments, books, and supplies. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated. You may share this page with your family and friends if you would like to. I also want to share my stories and photos from Japan with those who donate so I can share my journey with everyone. Please let me know your email address.
ありがとうございます。(Thank you)
Sincerely,
Ariel
