On November 19, 2023 our beloved brother and son, Arif Nadim Mohammed, passed away as a result of a double hit-and-run.
Arif was an 18 year old Freshman at Northeastern University in the Oakland, California campus studying Computer Engineering. After graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, our family was very excited to send Arif to college. It is a tragedy for any family to have their son, cousin, and grandson return to them, not for Thanksgiving break, but because he passed away.
Growing up Arif has always been dedicated to helping his community and family. He has always gone out of his way to make sure his cousins are safe, and tutoring each of his younger brothers to succeed in their studies. Moreover, he is known for his tutoring job at Mamun's where he has touched the hearts of students all over New York City.
As his family, we are creating the Arif Mohammed Memorial Foundation in his honor. This foundation will be committed to honoring Arif's love for tutoring and mentoring students. We, the family, are launching this gofundme to gather funds to establish tutoring services, scholarships, and charity funds that share our core values for education equity and college readiness.
Additionally, funds will be distributed to help our family with legal fees as the investigation is ongoing.
