Ari’s liver shunt surgery

Hi everyone,

My sweet cat, Ari, has been diagnosed with a liver shunt, this is a very serious condition that requires surgery. Without this surgery, Ari’s health will continue to decline as her blood is not being filtered by her liver, causing toxins to build up in her bloodstream. These toxins affect brain function, leading to seizures, behavioural changes, and hepatic encephalopathy (HE). Due to the severity of the liver shunt, medical management will not be sufficient.

The surgery costs are quoted at $10,000 CAD.
