Help Emma Andrews on her path to recovery
Donation protected
Emma Andrews is a keen competitive cyclist and energetic and vibrant member of HCC community. She has been a valued member of HCC since 2018 and she's introduced many others to the club. At the start of 2022 Emma was promoted to Women's A grade at the Teardrop and finished the women's Melbourne to Warrnambool.
After some health setbacks, she has been a welcoming face as a marshal of women's C grade at crits on a Wednesday night, teaching newcomers how to safely navigate the teardrop and encouraging them one more time up the hill to the finish. She then made a return to racing at the end of the season.
Last Friday, at Masters Road Nationals in Shepparton, Emma was involved in a crash at the finish line of the road race.
While her medium and long term prognosis is unknown at this stage, we do know she will need significant medical and rehabilitation support on the recovery journey.
It is in times like these that communities come together to show their support, in various ways, to the Emma’s of our world, their partners and immediate families. One way that Hawthorn Cycling Club is looking to support Emma is by setting up this GoFundMe page to collect donations that will be contributed, in full, towards Emma’s recovery and rehabilitation.
We ask you to donate and spread the word of this GoFundMe page to others that know Emma or are part of the wider cycling community.
Our thoughts are with Marc and Emma’s family as they help Emma through this difficult time.
